Swiss national broadcaster SRG SSR has announced that alternative pop singer Veronica Fusaro will represent Switzerland at the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Veronica was selected after several audition rounds judged by a Swiss audience jury, an international audience jury and an international expert jury. Veronica’s Eurovision entry will be revealed on Wednesday March 11th.
Who is Veronica Fusaro?
Veronica is 28 years old from Thun, Switzerland and has been making waves in the music industry as a singer-songwriter. Veronica appeared on The Voice of Switzerland in 2014 where she was eliminated in the knockouts round. Since then, Veronica has released two albums, won ‘Demo of the Year in 2016 and has performed on stages all around the world including British festival Glastonbury in 2019.
Fusaro says “It has always been my biggest dream to share my music with the whole world. To be able to do that now, even just a little bit, on the ESC stage means an incredible amount to me. I bring love, passion, and ambition to the music, to songwriting, and to performing”.
Switzerland will compete in the first-half of the second semi-final on Thursday May 14th.
Last year, Switzerland hosted the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel after Nemo’s victory in 2024. Last year, Zoë Më represented Switzerland with her song “Voyage” where she placed 10th in the Grand Final with 214 points.
