The Eurovision 2026 season has already been full of surprises, today is no different as Bulgaria have confirmed their return to the Eurovision Song Contest.
BNT Director General Emil Koshlukov has explained why the broadcaster have decided to return to Eurovision:
“Eurovision is a stage where cultures meet and stories are shared. BNT supports talented artists and we are happy that we were able to once again provide an opportunity for a Bulgarian artist to represent our country in front of an audience of millions.”
It is still unclear if Bulgaria will host a national selection or internally select their artist. BNT have confirmed that more details about their selection process will be revealed at a later date.
Last time we saw Bulgaria participate at Eurovision was back in 2022 where the contest took place in Turin, Italy. Bulgaria was represented by Intelligent Music Project with the song “Intention”, they placed 16th in semi-final 1 with a total of 29 points.
